Our growing method produces extremely high quality trees with accelerated crop production

Our Story

Craig Kaprielian is a third generation farmer in the San Joaquin Valley with a lifetime of experience. He discovered seedless mandarins in the early 1990s on a trip to France and then traveled the world in search of varieties to bring back to California. Along the way he partnered with several citrus breeding and growing experts, gaining knowledge that added to his farming practices. Craig introduced planting on large raised berms, high density plantings, computer-controlled fertigation systems, and trellis systems to the California citrus industry.

In 1997 we began growing citrus trees as Fruit World Nursery for our own family farms. We pioneered the method of growing California citrus trees in containers using soilless media in computer-controlled greenhouses. As our production blossomed, we decided to sell commercially to other California farmers through Genesis Nurseries. Today, we grow and sell several varieties of citrus and avocado trees.

Our
Process

From seed to maturity, our growing method creates resilient and productive trees. Growing within greenhouses allows us to control plant development with precision.

First, we propagate our seedlings at our nursery in a highly controlled environment. Once germinated, the strongest seedlings are selected for growth. Those seedlings are then planted in trainer pots where they take root. At this stage, the seedlings are micro-budded by our highly skilled staff. The tree buds heal in and shoot, and the plants are once again inspected for quality before we transplant them to a larger container with a proprietary soilless planting media. As the trees grow, they are trained up a fiberglass rod, which produces a straight trunk and increases stability when planted in the field. Once the trees reach maturity, they are ready to be shipped to our customers and planted in the ground.
